Meet Austin Moser: A Key Member of the Hawken Fishing Pro Staff
At Hawken Fishing, we pride ourselves on partnering with the best anglers in the industry, and Austin Moser is no exception. With over 20 years of fishing expertise in Eastern Washington and beyond, Austin has built a reputation as one of the hardest-working and most dedicated guides in the business.

As the owner of Austin's Northwest Adventures, Austin spends an impressive 300 days a year on the water. Whether he’s chasing trophy kokanee in the frigid waters of Lake Roosevelt or guiding clients through the legendary Chinook runs on Alaska’s Nushagak River, Austin is committed to ensuring every trip is not only successful but also unforgettable.
A Year in the Life of Austin Moser
Austin’s fishing calendar is nothing short of extraordinary. Starting in January, you’ll find him at Lake Roosevelt, pursuing trophy kokanee, rainbow trout, and burbot. As spring approaches, he shifts to Banks Lake and Potholes Reservoir to target walleye.
By March, he’s tackling the mighty Columbia River at Cathlamet, fishing for spring Chinook, while also guiding for oversized and keeper sturgeon. Come May and June, Austin adds drift boat fishing on the Icicle River in Leavenworth to his repertoire, seeking spring Chinook.
Mid-summer takes him to Alaska’s Nushagak River, where he fishes one of the largest Chinook salmon runs in the world. With fifty-king days being common, this is the ultimate destination for an angler of Austin’s caliber.
Returning to Washington in late July, he heads to the Brewster Pool to fish for sockeye and Chinook salmon at the mouth of the Okanogan River. The action doesn’t stop there—come August, he’s at Buoy 10 in Astoria, Oregon, guiding clients through the massive fall Chinook and coho salmon runs on the Columbia River.
As the season progresses, Austin follows the salmon upstream through mid-October, ensuring his clients are always in the heart of the action.

Austin’s passion for fishing is matched only by his dedication to his clients. His philosophy is simple: to provide the best experience possible, he uses top-of-the-line equipment, working closely with sponsors like Hawken Fishing to ensure success.
